Rhino Cam #06 – Romania to Istanbul
We’ve made it to Istanbul! Our first major milestone after 3700 km and 31 days on the road. The latest update takes us from a very wet experience in Romania, to fighting men in Bulgaria, meeting Barack Obama’s best mate, thunderstorms, lorries, Johan’s face falling off, bike racing Turkish children, getting chased by dogs (again) and navigating our way along the busy roads into Istanbul
Congratulations guys. Fantastic achievement. Really enjoy the videos, keep them coming. Istanbul one of our very favourite cities. Glad you’ll have a few days to explore and rest.
Loving the rhino cams Wohan! Amazing work, looks like you’re having an awesome adventure. Not sure about Johan’s facial hair though…
Congratulations on getting to Istanbul already!
Tilly xx
Awesome job being ahead of schedule. Glad you can take some time to enjoy Istanbul; one of Janice’s favourite cities. Wish I had some useful advice on the dog situation but alas no… Stay safe and keep the videos coming. Off to top up the donations.
hi you two! you are doing really well! Can’t believe you have already done 3’700 km! It must be getting easier as you go along! Hopefully you can leave the rain behind you now and enjoy dry, sunny weather!
At long last summer has reached Switzerland and we are enjoying (Walter is) gardening and watching everything bloom and grow!
Not long before we go on a cruise in the Baltic Sea – an easier way of travelling!
all the best and kind regards from Margrit and Walter Voirol in Switzerland
I am amazed by your videos! It’s very interesting to see what you are doing! Keep it up
Cheers!

I am getting quite addicted to this!…..it certainly looks as if you are having a wonderful adventure and you have made great progress – well done. Look out for the chasing dogs…xx
Gosh you two, I can’t believe you are really doing this! Loved the race with the kids.
Johan, I am so glad you do not have leprosy or the lurgy! Your skin is looking stunning after the chemical peel.
Keep up the peddling for rhinos. They poached one on Mjejane a month ago.
Awwwww, what a shame, we missed you by exactly 24 h in Istanbul :(. Vic and myself were at the Blue Mosque every day once, hoping you would arrive. Never mind, you did amazingly well to get there 3 days before scedule. Very well done guys. Hopefully as journey continues, you’ll be chased more by girls rather then dogs ;). Take care and can’t wait to see your next clip. xxx
Johan – I am loving the beard!!!!
Well done – sorry you’re having so much bother with dogs (the guy who cycled to China complained about the hazard of dogs as well). I’m praying for your health (and the bikes’ health!) and for safety on the roads, especially from lorries. I’m just doing my final prep this week for the Chiltern 100.
Wow! Just stumbled across your blog and watched all your videos over my lunch.
It’s absolutely incredible (and borderline insane) what you guys are doing! I’d love to be out there with you!
Keep it up, stay safe and keep the videos coming.
You guys are costing me a fortune riding through so many countries at what appears to be the speed of light!!!
Really proud of you both. I know you are looking for friends to join you en route – please could I be one of them?!?! Just let me know when and where!
Loving your blog, cant wait for the next video.
Lots of love xxx
