50% Sponsorship Milestone and Photos of Turkey

A massive thanks to the ongoing stream of donations we’ve been receiving recently to support Save the Rhino. We’ve now raised just shy of £10,000 (50% of our fundraising target) and have cycled 20% of the trip distance.

We’re currently enjoying a rest day in Samsun, Turkey after enduring the toughest week of climbing we’ll have on the entire trip. 13,000m of climbing and 900km over the last 7 days has left our legs in need of 24 hours of horizontal treatment. We wouldn’t have enjoyed the arduous slog from Istanbul to Samsun nearly as much without the incredible hospitality and encouragement of the Turkish people and their cups of tea. The people have been unbelievably kind. In every town there have been shouts of “Welcome to Turkey” from the rooftops, school gates, truck windows and street-side cafes. We have felt like celebrities for the week…
