Photos from Azerbaijan and the end of visa applications
We finally got our Azerbaijan visas in Tbilisi after a week and sped over to Azerbaijan. The landscape over the last week has suddenly changed dramatically and we have officially arrived in the dry! We arrived into Baku on Wednesday and have been looked after in some style by Anne and Drew. We have even had Boerewors on the braai! We’ve now got our Uzbek visas in hand (the last one to get!) and are gearing up for the flight over the Caspian Sea to Kazakhstan for a month or more in the desert. Here are some photos to tell the story.
Good to see you got your visas – following your epic journey with interest. Keep those wheels turning! 🙂
Here’s hoping the Boerewors on the brae in Baku made you lus for the boerewors on “Die Boer se Braai” (and Riaan’s jokes) at Fireflies in December! Keep up the peddling and the amazing photos!
The Campbells are hereby pledging 10 pounds per country towards Save the Rhino! How many countries have you done so far??
Tonight we hopefully cross into country number 15! Kazakhstan. Thanks guys.
I cant match the Campbells but I pledge 5 pounds per country!!

You lazy bastards, why fly and not peddle down and through Iran!!
Ahh Tollie. I’ve definitely missed being on the farm with you… I thought I’d save Iran for the cycle you and I said we’d do next year. How’s the training coming on?
I m still scratching around for some spares for my old ” dik wiel fiets” but I should have it all together by next year and will then proceed seriously with training!!
