The final 1000!
We’ve been storming along the stunning Gulf Coast and made it to Florida, the final US state! This morning we’re setting off from Panama City with under 1000km to go on our journey. My mind is all over the place at the moment and running through an extreme range of thoughts and emotions – I don’t really know what’s going on.
The friendliness and encouragement we’ve had over the last week on our travels through Mississippi, Alabama and into Florida has been incredible. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support from all of you and are within £1500 of achieving our fundraising target with just 993km to go. A large amount of the money we’ve raised has already gone to projects in Africa on the front line of the fight against Rhino poaching. If you want to read more about exactly where the money is going, visit savetherhino.org or signup to their newsletter.
Thanks again. Here we go. The final 1000.
So exciting! May these be the best 1000kms of the journey. Thinking of you all the time and tracking you all the way. Power to your pedals! Lots of love , Jo & Rony.
Doesnt seem right does it – such an epic effort with so many experiences just suddenly ends when jou seem least ready for it to do so?
But heres the thing – it doesnt really – old Eric, our 81yr old neighbour still does a quick 100k on his bike and seems to remember many trips and other things from his youth which may or may not have happened – but entertaining none the less.
How are you planning on preventing the muscle from turning to flab?
See you at Natures Valley – bring a good set of ear plugs – Riaan will be there!
Looking forward to having you all back home, safe and sound. Annsie xxxooo 🐝
Hi Johan,
A very, very awesome achievement. As I wrote before I think you have done something that is only to be admired.
I am not surprised that you are emotionally on a roller coaster but that will pass soon enough when you are in Nature’s Valley enjoying a beer or two.
Well done to Will, give it horns over the final distance the two of you and your support!
Go carefully.
Mike.
I’m waiting with bated breath for the news of your final arrival. Just don’t pick a fight with an aligator on the way.
